The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The woman at the front desk in the evening of May 25th, 2024 went out of her way to accommodate my young son and I when we had experienced some issues during the day (nothing to do with the hotel). I really appreciated her kindness! The hotel was comfortable, the food was excellent and the view was stunning. I will certainly stay here again when I come back to Iceland.

Great location to get around the area. The farm animals were cute and the location was very scenic. The staff was very helpful and gave great suggestions for places to see. Breakfast was convenient, as there's not much else in the area. We stayed in a standard double room with private bathroom and it was nice to have the shared kitchenette space in the guesthouse.

We loved the remoteness, no crowds, the view, the sheep and lambs playing in the fields and especially the neighbors dog.

Property is just off the route 1. Self check in was a bit confusing and there was no one to help us. Rooms were big and clean and kitchen was provided. Shared washrooms were also clean & nice.

Ragga was the best host!!! She messaged me the day before arrival with information about checking in and asked for us to confirm, if we knew about what time we thought we were going to be arriving! We told her we were going to take our time since the weather the day we were driving from Reykjavik was kind of rubbish, but planned on arriving between 4 and 5 - she greated us at the door, full of information about the guest house and farm, but also about points of interest around Vik and provided a map for us as well :)
The location is less than a mile up the road from Reynisfjall/Black Sand Beach AND you can see Dyrhólaey from the house (I LOVED the view from our room). Its in a great location if you want to just stay around Vik or drive out 1-3 hrs to various locations along the Ring Road (i.e. Glacier Lagoon, Diamond Beach, Mýrdalsjökull, Eyjafjallajökull). If you stay here, be sure to take the time to just walk around Vik, we spent one day just staying local, the Soup Company, Black Crust Pizza, Skool Beans Coffee are just some of the excellent places in town!
The highlight of staying here were the ANIMALS - if you love animals, you will see plenty (and one of the main reasons I wanted to stay here). Ragga's 3 dogs will great you with wagging tails, the barn cats warm purrs - AND she will give you a tour of the barn where the sheep are...if you're lucky, new baby lambs may even be born during your stay - we got to see one that was born the first night we were there :)
I booked a cottage 6 months prior to my arrival
I received an email 2 weeks before my visit that my cottage was double booked and I have to stay in a different cottage for which I would get 50% discount
I Ended up staying in a tiny place that looked like a barn and payed too much for what it’s worth, considering I was told I was paying 50 % ( I was not )
Pretty disappointing
