Holiday Inn is always a safe bet when selecting a place to stay. Great location with a casino next door and not inside the hotel itself, which is greatly appreciated.

The room was great, and we very much enjoyed drinks and food in the dog friendly, vape and smoke friendly casino! Value for what we got was great. Everything was clean and the staff was fantastic; we very much enjoyed it and have already booked another stay this fall!

Our estimate of Nevada went up thanks to our time in the Ely...
Our estimate of Nevada went up thanks to our time in the Ely area. It is very scenic. Of course, June is the wrong time to spend much time outside. It was incredibly hot. (But not nearly as hot as Las Vegas, which was 113 degrees Fahrenheit when we were there on the way to Ely.) Of course, gambling is everywhere in Nevada, but it is not as obtrusive in Ely. The "loneliest road in North America" begins there. It was in good condition and well worth the trip for the incredible views of mountains and wildlife.

I would but Ely needs a better choice of restaurants.
I would but Ely needs a better choice of restaurants. I asked about a place to eat mentioned Denny’s and was told it wasn’t the best place to eat. Went to McDonald’s instead and it was like we were bothering them. Food wasn’t very freash made.

Our room and building was ok. The jacuzzi wasn’t working.
Our room and building was ok. The jacuzzi wasn’t working. The front office staff said they were “waiting on a part,” put it was said in a very unsure and unbelievable way. Our friends, however (both in their 70’s), were given a room in a separate building on the second floor WITHOUT AN ELEVATOR!!! Not cool, La Quinta. Not cool. Plus, the sink was clogged, and it took an hour to get a plumber to show up!

Front desk was very accommodating. Room was clean. Everything worked. Apparently the hotel is upgrading some rooms. This room didn't have a microwave but we asked the front desk and she brought us one immediately.

Ely is a small town with very friendly people.
Ely is a small town with very friendly people. There are multiple hotels to stay in, each with a slot casino. The town seems to roll up around 8pm but the casinos are 24/7 and resturants within them stay open a bit later.
The Great Basin national park is about an hour away and this would be where you would want to stay if you are visiting there as the town of Baker, where the park is located is very very small with only 1 shop and no gas station.
We came for the Northern Nevada Railroad experience and my dad drove a steam and deisel engine train there. This is a museum as well. The railway is truly the town's gem.
If you come for the railroad experience, take a day to drive to the National Park, and make sure you also visit the White Pine Museum if you like small county museums.
The people of Ely were all very kind and genuinely nice.
If you are just roadtripping the loneliest highway(Hwy 50) and drive through Ely, make a stop and check out the historical Hotel Nevada.

I love Ely, this is my 4th stay.
I love Ely, this is my 4th stay. I have always had a memorable experience. One thing I wish I could have enjoyed was the new art gallery and Mercantile downtown. We arrived after they closed and left before they opened. So cool hearing the train blow its whistle as it chugged through town as well. On a former trip we visited the White Pine museum and it far exceeded our expectations. Worth a stop, for sure!
The staff was incredibly friendly. This was the best customer service I have witnessed since the beginning of the pandemic. For some reason after the pandemic, customers service in every industry has taken a nose dive. I was very pleasantly surprised to see that their customer service was excellent.
I also love the fact that they had a pet friendly rooms. It was the first time we were able to take our big dog with us on vacation. Love the experience. I highly recommend people staying in this hotel.
They are pet friendly. The little touches they did for you and your pet was amazing. Cute pet only section of the hotel, all themed out for pets. Room included a dog bed and a few dog treats. Nice area for you to take your dog out to potty which included baggies and a trash. There were several dogs staying and we never heard them in our room. Very quiet. Hotel beds were comfy. Loved having the resteraunt there in the hotel. Front desk staff were top notch!
The room was very clean and even smelled clean. Loved the size of the bathroom and amenities included. The cook was superb and super nice and breakfast until 10 am was great. Also the front desk clerk was super sweet. Thank you also for providing a place for people who travel with their 4 legged family. I have a service dog and he was welcomed and treated very nicely
It’s a historic hotel. Only complaint is size of bathrooms. Very small. The rooms are clean. Beds comfy. Often stop overnight on our trip South or return home. Denny’s restaurant. Complementary breakfast that was very filling. Dinner there was great as well.
Receptionist was friendly and helpful. Hotel and rooms clean. The pool looked super inviting - but I didn't have my swimming trunks with me, so couldn't try it.
Ely is the end of the world anyway, so location does not really matter...
It was an older hotel but the room was spotless with all the amenities we needed. Comfortable bed and lots of pillows. After we checked in the manager stopped by with bottles of water and told us about the continental breakfast.
Very clean, updated nice bathroom, nice amenities, and a good bar and restaurant. Very nice staff and service. Better price than other hotels in town and was nicely appointed. We would definitely stay there again!
The luggage carts are best ever! Staff friendly. Let us park our motorcycles under cover. Hotel very clean and organized. Layout well thought out. Close to restaurants. Room nice , quiet and clean.
The hotel is nearly 100 years old. It was loaded with nostalgia and memorabilia from 1930s and 1940s. The owner loves to talk about his hotel/casino. Breakfast was at an onsite Denny's.
I booked this hotel becsaue it was the cheapest I could find. I liked that it was cheap because it ended up being a waste of money as the acomodations were unacceptable.
