Did not eat breakfast but for the price, the hotel is not bad at all. Room was pretty clean and tidy, wifi was good enough, all the appliances were clean/working, owner was friendly, shops and gas just across the street. Overall a comfortable stay with no negative experience (except the sight of trash lying on sides/back of the hotel corners/side walls...something that can be easily cleaned up).

We stayed in Sturbridge because we were visiting Sturbridge Village. The town itself really doesn't have a lot but we did find a pizza place (there are several but we tried one of them) that was pretty good, it was called Enrico's Brick Oven Pizzeria & Pub.

Old Sturbridge Village is the main attraction in town.
Old Sturbridge Village is the main attraction in town. It is a lovely trip for families. You enter the Village and you are transported to the 1800s. It is a full working village separate from the outside world. Once inside there are no cars, telephone wires, or anything to distract you from enjoying your day living in history.
Sturbridge also has many wonderful restaurants. Everything from a local gem-Cedar Street Grill, to pizza, fast food and ice cream.
Not far from Sturbridge (5 minutes) is Tree House Brewery which is known world wide!
Three times a year you will find the Brimfield Antiques Market just 15 minutes down Route 20.

We had some difficulty checking in to the Scottish Inn because the person at the desk couldn't find our reservation and English was not his primary language. The room we were assigned smelled horrible from smoke despite a non smoking room and the cable TV did not work. We were finally given another room which was much better. We didn't bother going for breakfast because the room was so small that four people would be over crowded so we went next door to Annie's for breakfast.

Was told that my 35 pound dog wasn't welcome however there was much larger dogs next to us that were always barking and very disruptive.
The staff treated us with disrespect and didn't want to let us have shampoo or more towels without us begging for them. Honestly I would never stay at such an incredibly horrible hotel again. Probably why they don't allow you refunds because they know how horrible they run their hotel.

In addition to the “Old World Charms” - I mentioned in my first part of my review……the Staff was amazingly helpful, friendly, and so professional - yet so welcoming.
The food at the restaurant is scrumptious and the dining room comfy!
Do Not miss The Bake Shoppe! Everything made on premise……eye candy! Sweets for the Soul!
Don’t miss this special “step back in time.”

Easy-pleased history buffs with young families yearning for the feel of colonial tymes will probably find Publick house the ideal introduction to old New England. Like all inns of its day, the facility is woefully undersized for today’s tourist business. Our assigned room was a short, up-hill saunter to one of the satellite annexes. Here the shelter rendered in “old construction” is 1950’s era old construction and the idea to include guest rooms seems to have been an afterthought. Rooms are plain but spacious. Bathroom motif closely matched the building’s period and closets were found in unexpected places.
.
Dining:
I ordered the very New England scrod; a delicious fish when properly prepared (it was) but encumbered by a repulsive sounding name. Like the folks at the reception desk, waiters were a joy to encounter, but the kitchen closes a 7 PM and service was painfully slow.
I was there for PMC weekend and was so distraught when I realized I was farther away from the start than I thought. Jack, the owner, took exceptional care of me. Brought me to the start at 4:30 am and offered to help me get around the area since I was without any transportation! He also offered all other riders water to make sure we were hydrated. The hotel was exceptionally clean and comfortable. Can’t say enough positive things about my experience and so very grateful.
There were several aspects that I found particularly appealing. Firstly, the rooms were exceptionally clean and well-maintained, which significantly enhanced the overall comfort and enjoyment of my stay. Additionally, the availability of free parking was a pleasant surprise. Moreover, the hotel offered excellent value for money, especially for those looking for a convenient and affordable option for a short stay in the city.

This is a motel in a good location for travelers off on I-90 or visitors to Old Sturbridge Village. For a low price, the property was in very good shape and the people were very friendly. There's a very nice tavern with great food just down the street. I've stayed at too many major brands that have not kept up with maintenance or personnel since the pandemic. This place was well-kept.
The bedding was dirty, the walls had stains. Worst of all, the other “guests” were questionable at best - my husband was approached in the parking lot, asking if he wanted to make “a quick $20” 😳
We did not stay, will be requesting a refund and went to another hotel where we actually paid less and felt way more comfortable!
The motel is located in a great location. The rooms are small but they are advertised as such. It is a no frills room offered at a great value compared to other motels in the area. The king sized bed was firm but comfortable. The staff was very nice and accommodating.
This is a unique property with its colonial-era buildings, as well as beautiful gardens and spacious grounds. Much nicer than a chain hotel in that sense. The staff were very pleasant, including the heroic restaurant staff. The room price was very reasonable.
Shower was hot, AC was cold, bed was clean. It was pretty normal. Truck stop at the bottom of the hill was a mad house but I managed to find parking. There wasn't much to do in the area but I found a public park with a nice hiking trail not far from the hotel.
I liked the cleanliness of the hotel and the room, the breakfast, the service from the front desk and from the gentlemen handling the breakfast area, the room was spacious and excellent, and it was quiet.
Very clean. It is owner run and it is obvious that the owner has pride in maintaining a clean establishment. The room was thoroughly cleaned each day, more so that many high end hotels I have stayed in.
This is a no frills hotel but met my needs. It was clean and the bed very comfortable. The desk clerk on evenings was especially nice. Answered all of my questions about the area. Would stay here again.
Not much, hotel staff was challenging and there wasn't much of them. Room was clean but run down and shower curtain was too small for the tub so we ended up having to use our towels to dry the floor.
Room was quiet. A/C unit worked well and was also quiet. Good blackout curtains. Several restaurants close by which turned out to be fortunate because the hotel breakfast was less than acceptable.
Nice historic hotel. Main portion has a nice bakery area. Complementary breakfast danish and muffins are very great if. Stayed in the motor lodge area. Not as well kept. Ok for a night
Location is good to visit Sturbridge village and Apple orchards. Check in and out was easy. Staff was friendly.
Roku TV with only one live channel. Great if you have a Roku acct.
Walked into the hotel and it wreaked of pot. Lobby was filthy, we didn’t stay. We did get a refund but the price for this and rating is far too high. This is a budget hotel.
