I usually stay in Tucumcari on my way from Az. to the mid west to visit my children. This was my first time at the Roadway Inn. I will stay here from now on instead of the other Motels in town that are double the price, and the bonus, it is on Route 66 ++++

Tucumcari is a city rebounding from the loss of rail service in the 1980’s or 90’s. The train depot has been converted to a museum. The charm of vintage vehicles and Historic U.S. Route 66 is evident everywhere. Recommended restaurants: Del’s and Kix 66.

Street signs are small but staff at Desert Inn very helpful giving directions! Stonehouse Ranch Steakhouse great choice for nice dinner, not far away! Great change from Taco Bell or McD's (both close by!)!

We always like going through Tucumcari when we travel out west. Sometimes we stop and shop. The motet accommodations were very nice. Breakfast was great.
The only thing I have a complaint about is the pet fee. Fees should be according to size of pet.

The property it self was nice enough, but my daughters apple air pods were left and the hotel have failed to return them to us even though we sent a postage paid addressed envelop for their return over 2 months ago and when we initially phoned they confirmed house keeping had handed them into the office. They now will not respond to my emails or Booking.coms attempts to contact them regarding this, so all in all dishonest. I can't find a phone number to call them from oversea's on, the number on the booking only works in USA. Disappointing they have not been returned,
Breakfast had a lot of good options. We felt safe in this hotel location. The pet areas are easily accessible. The beds and linens were clean and very comfortable. The cleanliness of this hotel from the hallways, to the rooms and into the lobby and food area all highly exceeded my expectations. I don't know if that is bc this is a newer hotel, but I hope that my future visits to other Fairfield Inn & Suites locations are all as positive and excellent as our stay was in Tucumcari.
This family owned business is working hard to be the best Route 66 motel in Tucumcari and they are almost there. It's clean, has comfortable beds, everything is in good working condition and Tiffany and Roel are two of the nicest people you'll ever meet. Tiffany even made a yummy hot dish to go with the usual continental breakfast. We were very pleased with our stay and will definitely stay again.
Everything! Great position, so quite at night! Room clean and the most comfy bed we ever had on our Route66 travel. Rama and Ray, the owners, are so friendly like we knew them since many years. They give also many tips on what to see and what to do in town. This is a must go while visiting (or just stopping by) Tucumcari.
The Blue Swallow motel met our high expectations as the most iconic Route 66 motel. The owner adores the place and cherishes his guests, treating them like family. The lovingly preserved original features and stories of previous owners and visitors are priceless. And, oh, that neon sign!
The location was great. We had never checked out Tucumcari before, make to explore the town in search if all the amazing murals and the famous Route 66. Hotel clean, staff friendly, but make sure to request a room away from the elevator, very noisy both late and early in morning.
Tucumcari is a perfect stoping point for us. Although it’s not like it was 50 years ago. It’s very nice to see some of the motels I remember as a kid. The Road Runner Inn took me back 60 years. The decor was fun and of the period. The room was clean and the staff was friendly.
Extremely positive staff. Very clean room and facilities. Well appointed room. Comfortable beds. Everything updated. My husband said the breakfast was the best of our travels. Warm options fried eggs, potatoes, green chili sauce, sausage, biscuits and gravy. Pet friendly.
If you are travelling Route 66, stay in Tucumcari and book this place. Out of the 15 places we stayed at while travelling the ‘mother road’ this was the best. A gem of a motel and the attention to detail with the 1960s vibe was brilliant.
This is my second stay at the motel. It has been over a year since my last stay but hotel owner recognized me and called me by name. It is very quiet and clean place. There is a bar on site if you want to get a drink. 10 stars.
The staff was friendly, and the location was great. The cost is on average with Motel 6 chain. And they were accomodating to my need for fluidity of stay (travel delays and rescheduling) (* Big plus- Pet Friendly!)
The breakfast of the hotel was very good and the location was a nice and quiet area. I enjoyed the stay, felt like home and the staff was very sweet. Room was clean, everything worked, nothing was broken.
Clean, comfortable accommodation for our overnight stay in Tucumcari. Attentive staff who were friendly and helpful in recommending restaurants in town to eat at. Highly recommended!
The person at the front desk who checked us in was pleasant and amicable. The hotel is ideally located in Tucumcari on one of the two main roads in Tucumcari.
