Au charme de St Georges is a recently renovated apartment in Saint-Georges-de-Didonne where guests can make the most of the private beach area and garden.
Characterful coastal town. In Summer there were lots of market stalls both in the town square and along the beach front. The large beach has lots of water activities such as windsurfing and sailing but there are separate areas for swimming so it is safe and enjoyable with lifeguards attending.
The lighthouse is worth a visit - there's a lovely promenade walk to it and you can climb the stairs to the top for a lovely view of the area.
St Georges was much quieter than neighbouring Royan.

The beach is clean and easily accessible and very close to the town. We arrived on a Monday and unfortunately almost every restaurant, café, bar and most shops were closed giving us very little choice.

I loved this town & area on the western coast of France!
I loved this town & area on the western coast of France! It's not known to many Americans, but many French go there for vacation in July & August. I felt lucky to have found it, only because a French friend is from the region.
Places of interest are Talmont, Grotto Matata, Cotes Sauvage, lighthouse (phare) on the Ile de Re, are just a few. Mostly hanging out at the beach & going to the free evening concerts in Royan.

Lovely big old house with a modern interior.
Conveniently located for St. George's De Didonne.
Fantastic shower, better than 5 star hotels.
Incredibly comfortable living room with huge L shape sofa, big modern TV , WiFi and a lovely dining table.
2 bathrooms, both with showers. Bedrooms are comfortable. AC. Gardens. Private Parking. BBQ area. Community living in a quiet area.
Hosts were fantastic, everything very easy.
Well located studio apartment, close to the beach. large enough to accommodate a couple. all basics equipment was in: microwave, coffee maker, fridge... Well maintained studio with access to a little yard (ground floor). Parking closed. Kind and customer-oriented owner. Pets friendly with direct yard access :-) !!
Able to park close to apartment. Hosts went out of their way to help us get the TV set up for English/streaming channels. Kitchen very well equipped with good quality coffee machine etc - all very new. Liked quiet location near to Forest of Suzac and quiet beach. Five minutes drive into town with free parking.
This place is amazing. We had a private small house by the sea. The house was furnished with style and quality. The view from the big windows was so beautiful even in rainy November day. If you like to try sand surfing they offer a trial class in the near by beach towards Royan. It was fun (and muddy).
The breakfast was lovely, homemade yogurt, confiture, fresh orange juice and coffee, fresh fruit, brioche, toast, our sort of breakfast.
The centre was a five minute walk and you could walk to the beach just as quickly.
Great location! Access to beach and St George’s a few steps away. Very comfortable bed. Lovely outside seating. Quiet setting. Friendly and helpful staff.
