You can watch hippos, baboons and crocodiles in the river just a few steps from the camp. Magdy and his staff are very attentive and kind. We also booked a game drive and we were very happy with our guide! Would definitely stay there again! Note if you arrive from Nairobi by rental car: -make sure you rent a 4WD -the fastest road to the camp is through the park on the C12 - entering at Sekenani Gate. However, the guards there didn't let us pass. They wanted us to pay the entrance fee and said that we weren't allowed to pass for free (as we read in other reviews before). So we ended up taking "Simba Road" which was recommended by the locals in the village before the gate. Be aware that this road is very bumpy and ask for directions towards Talek. It goes around the park to Talek. -do not take the C13/C14 from Narok!! -when we left we were allowed to go through the park from Talek Gate. They gave us a ticket which is called "Transfer ticket" which is valid for two hours and is for free. So a ticket like this still exists, apparently it depends on the guard if they will give it to you or not!

Providing garden views, Talek Bush Camp, Masai Mara in Talek provides accommodation, an open-air bath, a garden, barbecue facilities and a shared lounge. I can’t even explain how happy we are with our stay in Talek Bush camp. We booked it at the very last minute and I was not sure what to expect as we never slept in this kind of safari tent before. Everyone was so nice, friendly, welcoming and helpful. The tents were really specious and with enough space in between to provide some comfort and privacy. We arrived just before dinner time around 19 o’clock and we were served the food immediately. We stayed for two nights and both dinners were delicious and with a lot of vegetarian options. For the two days, we had our breakfast and lunch packed and we had a picnic inside the park while watching the wildlife around. It was just magical. The location is perfect just outside the Talek gate, so you don’t have to travel a lot early in the morning to enter the park. We had a problem with the guide that we booked before our arrival and we ended up having no guide for the next day at 22 o’clock. We called the owner Mustafa late in the evening, asking him if he could help us somehow. He not only picked up the phone despite the late hour but he also arranged a guide for us immediately and it turned out to be the best experience we had so far. Our new guide did the impossible to find us all of the big cats and we even saw all the big five in one single day in the park. if you happen to be there on Friday night they also have a cultural night around the campfire with Masai people explaining about their culture and dancing. We would be very happy to come back again if we have the chance. Just a perfect stay.

Sitting on a shady raised platform facing the Talek river, each luxury tent covers approximately 26sqm and is fitted with a queen size bed or 2 twin beds. So special place in nice location on the Talek river, many animals around , hippos and crocodiles monkeys and more. The rooms are very clean and have all the facilities you will need. The food is superb. And the staff are very friendly and always happy to help on all what needs. It’s not my first time in Mara but it’s the best place I have ever stay in Mara.

Our stay was in a spacious tent that was well-equipped with all necessary amenities for a comfortable experience, including a thoughtful provision of a lamp for late-night bathroom visits to the nearby outhouse. Sarah and Nathan were exceptional hosts, going above and beyond to arrange transportation for us from Narok to the Kambu Mara camp. Sarah's thoughtful gesture of providing souvenirs featuring the camp was a delightful touch.

Located in Aitong, Enkusero Mara offers accommodation with seating area. This luxury tent provides free private parking, free shuttle service and free WiFi. Enkusero is a small boutique camp, owned and run by William who is a local Masai, a passionate host and an excellent guide with15 years of experience. He took us for tailor- made safaris and went out of his way to show us the Big Five and countless other wonderful creatures. The location was fantastic and ideally located to visit the Masai Mara reserve. Our tent was luxurious and beautifully furnished . They had wooden decks with large verandas, for us to enjoy the sight of zebras, wildebeest and gazelles that grazed and freely roamed around the camp. The camp was exclusive and intimate in character with 3-4 luxury tents, perfect for one large or two small families. The food was par excellence . Robert is a fabulous chef who delighted in serving us exquisite dishes, most beautifully presented. We were quite apprehensive of food as we are vegetarians but it seemed no trouble for the skilled chef. The team, service and hospitality was superb. We took packed breakfast on most morning game drives. They were delicious and plentiful. I would like to make a special mention of the bush dinner with camp fire and lanterns which was really spectacular. William also organised sundowner drinks and it was simply humbling watching the sunset in the vast, peaceful setting of the Mara. We thoroughly enjoyed a visit to the traditional village of the Masai community, which William was happy to organise. To add to all this, the money spent at the camp directly benefits the local Masai community as it provides direct employment and there are no middlemen involved. We stayed 5 nights and each day was above all our expectations. Fantastic place where to stay if you want to be in the middle of wilderness and at the same time feel safe, special and be treated like royalty. Beautiful place in the hills of the Maara… extremely friendly and accommodating staff… amazing luxury tents… top-notch local guides - Alex, our guide, and Jon, the GM, are exceptionally welcoming and knowledgable… great food produced in their own gardens… incredible wildlife right in the reserve itself… beautiful game drives, not only in the Maara reserve but also in the conservatories which allow you to do walking safaris… bonfires for sunsets in the bush… just infredible… cannot recommend more… we had a wonderful time and will be back.

Perched on the hills of the private and secluded Megwarra escarpment lies Entumoto Safari Camp. The camp offers panoramic views over the Mara plains and features an outdoor pool, restaurant and bar. Everything about this spot was perfect!

This tent features views of the savannah plains. It comes with linen and towels, as well as access to a shared outdoor shower and toilet. This is an experience we won't forget! The campsite was beautiful. The facilities are not only functional and eco, they're beautifully designed. The shower and toilet with a view are not to be missed. The hot water is fetched from the natural hot springs, so it really is eco. Just don't spend too long in the shower to respect others wanting a hot shower. Our tent was spacious, and with sufficient privacy. We re-packed everything into one suitcase to avoid taking two big suitcases into the tent for the couple of nights we were there. The staff were very helpful, and explained everything in the camp well. We enjoyed all the food, the culture visits, the tours, learning about Maasai life, and the whole experience. I read in a guide book that it's 'put-on' for tourists but the majority of the staff are real Maasai although they're perhaps of the generation that is now schooled, etc. they still know a lot about their own culture and will happily answer any questions to teach you about their lifestyle.
