We were warmly welcomed and the place is loved by adults as well as children. Asanka's wife Sadamali prepared our dinner and it was the best meal we had in Sri Lanka. The hotel arranged the safari. The jeep driver who provides excellent service is the best guide. The sound of the river is like a bavana throughout the night. Love it.

Good value for money, dinner was very good!! And the staff is very friendly. The beds are comfortable and the room is very clean! We took a safari with them and it was great. Totally recommend it

This is one of the best locations I’ve visited so far. Situated in a very remote area where there’s limited access to outer world. You have to take a basic nature trail to reach the destination which my family enjoyed much. once you entered the premises it’s like you stepped into another country. Very calm and peaceful environment so we need to adopt to the destination. I recommend this place to all nature lovers who look for places where you can blend with nature. Limited electricity so prepare yourself with backups. (power banks, flashlights, ect)

Situated in Udawalawe, 17 km from Udawalawe National Park, Kottawatta River Bank Resort features accommodation with an outdoor swimming pool, free private parking, a garden and a shared lounge. The chief at the restaurant was super good, I wasn’t able to find anyone in Sri Lanka who could satisfy my food needs like this place. staff entirely were very friendly and makes you feel like home. It was one of my best moments in Sri Lanka

Offering river views, this fan-cooled tent has a private entrance, seating area and extra large bed with spring mattress. It includes a hot water shower, towel and shoe racks. We stayed in the double room with a pool view, a beautiful room. When I saw pictures online of the outdoor bathroom I saw sold! The restaurant onsite has great food and a very full buffet breakfast. The location is good also, close enough to Udawalawe junction (10 min walk). We did a full day safari tour with Gayal and it has been the highlight of this trip so far. He is a very knowledgeable guide and was very patient with all of my picture taking. Ask for him when you book your tour, you won't be disappointed!

Athgira River Camp is located at the door step of Udawalawe National Park with views of Rakwana River. It’s very close to Udawalawe reservoir and to the Elephant Orphanage. The tents were lovely and faces the river which was so nice and quiet. The food was great and very friendly staff. Fernando the head chef was very nice and made a special chicken curry for my husband.
