The location is magical, with views of mountains above and Bellinzona down below. There is a huge fenced yard that our dogs loved running around and tanning. The studio ("Loft") and really large and modern. Internet was super. The hosts we very attentive and caring, even provided beds and bowls for our dogs, which was so appreciated. We were supplied with fire wood to have a fire in the wood stove every night. We spent two weeks at Scarpape and traveled to various places, such as Valle Verzasca, Valle Maggia, Monte Generoso, Monte Lema, and many others. It's possible to go on hikes right from the front door. It's all very accessible. We will definitely be back!

The Osteria Ritrovo dei Passeggeri is located at 800 metres above sea level, in the middle of nature with a marvelous view over the Lago Maggiore and the Ticinese Alps. The location was stunning, the place very friendly, owner-run, totally understated and cozy-beautiful. We managed to get a freshly cooked dinner at nearly 10pm when we arrived with three sleepy kids. The views from the hotel are amazing. The online photos don't do the place justice, it looks better than on the pictures.

Set in the historical city centre of Bellinzona, Youth Hostel Bellinzona is just 500 metres from The Three Castles of Bellinzona, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The hostel serves a buffet breakfast. Great location, affordable, and a good value for the price. We stayed there for a weekend and the place really met our needs. We were also able to store our bags and work from the hostel common spaces after we checked out on Monday, which was very much appreciated. I would definitely recommend it and stay there again myself.
