The rooms, as in all the Fosshotel locations, were lovely. The bar and breakfast area were beautiful, and we loved seeing the sheep that hang out near the hotel. The location was good - although we had a very rainy, misty, cold June day in Lake Myvatn so I cannot say if the views were good (they appear to be). Our only issue was that the construction of the hotel is concrete, which made all the footsteps in the rooms above us rather loud, and my kids had trouble sleeping due to it.

An excellent place to stay next to Lake Myvatn. Located close to Hverir geothermal area and Myvatn Nature Baths (well worth a visit). The restaurant here is superb and the buffet breakfast the best we had in Iceland with meats and cheeses etc. from the farm (there is a very strong farm to plate ethic going on here). The room itself was well sized but cozy and warm (it was minus 13 in the morning so this was important!). Plus you can go and pet the cows and calves!

The room was comfortable and really clean. There were shared showers/toilets but the room had a sink inside which was a plus. The breakfast was delicious, with a very nice view of the fields. 20min by car from Lake Myvatn. One can also buy pretty Icelandic sweaters there in a decent price compared to shops in Reykjavik or Akureyri.

Central location at lake Myvatn. Proper rooms with bath and comfortable bed. We were here in August, so there were thousands of flies and mosquitos which dont bite, so its just a little bit stressful when they invade your head. :) Nothing to do with the guesthouse, just consider this at that time of the year.

The hotel is ideally located right on Lake Myvatn, right across the Pseudo-craters of Skutustagagigarto. There are several other hikes nearby. The hotel is modern and the rooms spacious and very comfortable. The hotel has a Happy hour between 4-6 pm with some delicious cocktails that you shouldn't miss!

Comfortable but small room, large en suite bathroom with heated floor. Excellent location for Lake Myvatn - short drive to all key sites including Myvatn baths, Hverir etc. Close to supermarket, petrol station, pizza and more formal restaurants. Easy check-in and check-out with self use codes.

I LOVE the Hotel Laxa. It has such a cool laid back vibe and is in the perfect location on the banks of Lake Myvatn. The rooms are cosy and modern, the breakfast is good, the staff are friendly. I can’t praise it enough. We even got to see the Northern Lights from the car park🇮🇸💚

Very nice hotel in very good location to explore the area around lake Myvatn. The room was very clean and the beds very comfortable. The breakfast buffet offered a very good variety of food. We can recommend this hotel!

The property was super clean and conveniently located on the lake. Easy drives to Lake Myvatn, Godafoss, Dettifoss, Namafjall geothermal area, Husavik.

Mývatn trout and lava bread for breakfast. Location is very central at lake Mývatn.

The town is beautiful. The rooms are old fashioned, but stylish.

The family has a door separates two rooms, this was exceeded our expectations, the breakfast was delicious, and you can pack your own sandwichs with very reasonable prices, the ice cream from the farm house is the best we had. The staff is very friendly. The best value for money accommodation we had in Iceland

Great breakfast. Lava bread was different. The host was really accommodating and so kind. They made me an early breakfast package due to my early departure. There's a grocery store, gas station, and fish n chips place nearby.
